Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AegisProtect home security platform, including the mobile application, web portal, hub devices, sensor devices, and integrations with third-party services. By using AegisProtect, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

AegisProtect provides a home security platform that includes hardware (hub, sensors, keypads), cloud-based monitoring and event processing, a mobile application for system control, and optional integrations with voice assistant platforms (Google Home, Amazon Alexa).

2. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including your login password and voice PIN.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You must provide accurate and current information when creating your account.

3. Voice Assistant Integration

AegisProtect integrates with Google Home and Amazon Alexa to allow voice control of your security system. By enabling these integrations:

• You authorize AegisProtect to share your security system status with Google and Amazon as needed to fulfill voice commands and provide proactive status updates.
• You acknowledge that voice commands to arm or disarm your security system carry inherent risk and that you are responsible for securing your voice PIN.
• You acknowledge that disarming via voice requires a 4-digit PIN and that AegisProtect will lock your voice access after repeated failed PIN attempts.
• You may unlink your voice assistant at any time through the Google Home or Alexa app.

4. Security System Limitations

AegisProtect is designed to enhance your home security, but no security system can guarantee prevention of break-ins, theft, or other incidents. You acknowledge that:

• The system depends on internet connectivity, power supply, and proper sensor placement.
• Voice commands depend on third-party platforms (Google, Amazon) that AegisProtect does not control.
• Notification delivery depends on mobile network and internet availability.
• AegisProtect is not a monitored security service unless you subscribe to a monitoring plan.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use AegisProtect for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to bypass security controls or access other users' accounts
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the AegisProtect software or hardware
• Share your account credentials with unauthorized individuals

6. Subscription and Payments

Certain AegisProtect features require a paid subscription. Subscription terms, pricing, and billing cycles are presented at the time of purchase. You may cancel your subscription at any time, but refunds are subject to our refund policy.

7. Hardware

AegisProtect hardware (hub, sensors, keypads) is sold separately. Hardware is covered by a limited warranty as described in the warranty documentation included with your purchase. AegisProtect is not responsible for damage caused by improper installation or use.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AegisProtect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of property, personal injury, or damages arising from system failure, delayed notifications, or unauthorized access. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Privacy

Your use of AegisProtect is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the AegisProtect app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting support@aegisprotect.io. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Jamaica.
